Brian Bruggeman
PresidentBackground: Commercial real estate professional and active real estate developer.
Connection to Annandale: My family and I are proud to call Annandale home, with strong ties to the local schools, activities, and community events. Having grown up in Annandale, I credit the school district and community as a foundation that helped shape who I am today. My wife, Jessica, and I are excited to watch our three children begin their own journey through the same school system.
Favorite Childhood Book: The Goosebumps series
Why I Joined AEF: I believe strong schools are essential to a strong community. As someone who benefited greatly from growing up in Annandale, I am excited to help support opportunities and resources that will positively impact current and future students.
Emily Combs
SecretaryBackground: Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Connection to Annandale: I was born and raised in Annandale and attended school here from kindergarten through 12th grade. After college, as my husband and I started thinking about raising a family, we felt drawn back to the sense of community that small-town life offers. I had such a positive experience growing up here, and we were excited for our kids to attend a district known for its excellence in education, where they would be truly known and supported.
Favorite School Memory: It’s hard to choose just one! The Europe trip definitely stands out, along with the 4th grade sale, Kovall’s play, the 50s party in Mr. Tengwall’s class, and all the friendly banter in both Mr. Tengwall’s and Mr. Massman’s classrooms that made learning fun.
Favorite Childhood Book: The Boxcar Children
Why I Joined AEF: I joined AEF because I recognize the importance of having a nonprofit in our community that directly supports our classrooms. As an alumna, parent, wife of an educator, and someone who works closely with youth, I am deeply passionate about the success of our schools, staff, and students.
TreasurerDan Dougherty
Background: Financial Advisor with Dougherty & Associates.
Connection to Annandale: My wife, Molly, and I are lifelong residents of Annandale. We both enjoyed school and built great relationships with our teachers, some of whom are still teaching today.
Favorite Childhood Book: Growing up, I enjoyed books that encouraged curiosity, learning, and problem-solving.
Why I Joined AEF: I chose to be part of the Annandale Education Foundation to help provide additional resources and opportunities that enhance the educational experience for students in the Annandale school district.
Board MemberAlyssa Radisewitz Domagala
Background: Agent/Owner, American Family Insurance, Annandale, MN.
Connection to Annandale: I’ve been a proud member of the Annandale community since 2010, when I moved here to start my business. I was drawn to the close-knit feel of the community, the strong reputation of the schools, and the beautiful setting in the “Heart of the Lakes.” Today, I have three children attending Annandale Public Schools, making my connection to this community both personal and meaningful.
Favorite School Memory: One of my favorite memories was a middle school lock-in for incoming 5th graders. It helped us feel comfortable and connected before starting a new chapter.
Favorite Childhood Book: I loved the ValueTales series growing up, especially stories like Helen Keller and determination and Jackie Robinson and courage. Those lessons have stayed with me over the years.
Why I Joined AEF: I believe education plays a vital role in helping students grow academically, socially, and personally. I’m excited to support opportunities that help students and schools thrive.
